About Me! Who Am I?
Hi, I’m Ty Lockhart. I’m a resilient child facilitator, mindful parenting guide, and kids yoga teacher, specialized in self-regulation for sensitive children. I am also a highly sensitive person with ADHD and sensory processing differences.
I work with parents and young children who struggle with handling big emotions, sensations, and difficult behaviors. As a child, I was often misunderstood because I was extremely sensitive and had big emotional reactions to things my family didn’t understand. My emotions were often denied and my emotional needs were not met because my parents didn’t know how to support me. As a result, I learned to shut down my feelings, interpreted them as “bad”, and grew up experiencing anxiety, unhappiness, and a lack of self-confidence and acceptance as a result. When I found mindfulness practices as an adult, my life changed and I was able to learn about my sensitivities, embrace my big feelings and sensations, and overcome my struggles.
I took the tools I learned on my healing journey and implimented them with my clients and it's been a game changer for kiddos' emotional wellbeing and overall development. That's why I’m passionate about applying my personal experience and professional training to help parents understand their sensitive child's experiences, support them in understanding and embracing their emotions, and teach them essential, life-long tools so that they love and accept who they are from an early age and can thrive as adults.
